Priscilla Seyfort Dip T (EC), B Ed, M Ed, Ph D has over thirty years experience in the early childhood field. Priscilla commenced her career as a kindergarten teacher, and later Director, at Boroondara Kindergarten in Melbourne, which provided programs to 120 children and families, 95% of whom were recently arrived migrants.
As a recipient of the Jean Adamson Award for research in early childhood, Priscilla spent a year in the United Kingdom investigating multicultural early childhood programs and during this time was a visiting fellow to the University of London, Centre for Multicultural Studies. Priscilla worked in local government as an ethnic services advisor, and served for four years as a Commissioner of the Victorian Multicultural Commission. Priscilla has taught in the TAFE and university sectors.
She has particular interest and expertise in relation to supporting vulnerable children and families, early intervention programs, collaborating with families, cultural diversity and children's rights. Priscilla was a member of the Early Childhood Australia National Advisory Group that developed the Statement of Intent: Supporting young children's rights (2015 -2018), which was launched in March 2015.
Most recently Priscilla worked for eight years as Senior Policy Advisor to the Victorian Commission for Children and Young People.
