Professor Markson is a developmental psychologist with expertise in language, cognitive, and social cognitive development. Her current research focuses on how children learn words and concepts, children's reasoning about social exclusion and inclusion, children's thinking about individuals from different social categories (e.g., speakers of a foreign language, race, etc.), and children's understanding of their own and others' preferences.
