Julie is currently teaching at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) across the Certificate III in Children’s Services and Diploma of Children’s Services, and the Bachelor of Education (birth to eight) at the University of Canberra (UC). Julie’s formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Education (early childhood) awarded from UC, and a Masters of Education (special education) awarded from the University of Southern Queensland. Julie’s first teaching appointments were in government preschools and as the preschool teacher in early education and care centres. She also has experience as a director of an early education and care centre. Julie’s appointment as a Board Director of ECA was confirmed in 2011 when she was nominated by the ECA ACT Branch, where she had filled a range of Executive Committee positions for over 10 years.
