Dr. Brendon Hyndman is the coordinator of the Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning and is a Lecturer in Education (Teaching & Learning/Health & Physical Education) within the School of Education at Charles Darwin University (CDU), Australia. Dr. Hyndman is also a prominent researcher within CDU's International Graduate Centre of Education (IGCE). Dr Hyndman has extensive school-based teaching and research experiences within a diverse range of primary, secondary and tertiary settings. He gained his Ph.D. at RMIT University in school-based health/physical activity and has degrees in Health & Physical Education and Tertiary Education from the University of Ballarat (now Federation University). His PhD included the internationally recognised Lunchtime Enjoyment Activity and Play (LEAP) movable school playground intervention. He has been involved in teacher education since 2009. Broadly, his research interests lie in Health and Physical Education, the informal school curriculum, teacher education and interventions to improve school children’s physical, cognitive and social skills.
